Downhole restrictions can have a significant impact on wellbore access, well integrity and well production. In this video example, an operator in South East Asia planned a re-perforation campaign on a selection of wells to increase production. However, when performing an initial drift on one of the primary candidates, the slickline crew encountered an unknown restriction within the completion. Multiple drift and lead impression block runs were attempted but failed to move beyond the restriction or yield any information as to its cause.
With a potentially large increase in production at stake, the operator elected to run EV’s Optis M125 camera on slickline to help determine the root cause of the hold up and develop a strategy to overcome it.
