(Reuters) – Oil operators in North Dakota, the third-largest oil producing U.S. state, are operating fewer rigs than last month, the state’s Industrial Commission said on Friday.
The rig count has dropped to 31 from 37 in December, said Nathan Anderson, director of the North Dakota Department Of Mineral Resources. Active frac crews remain at 14, he added.
North Dakota oil production rose 43,000 barrels per day (bpd) in November compared with October, to 1.221 million bpd.
Bakken oil delivered at Clearbrook, Minnesota, was pricing at a $1.22 per barrel discount to West Texas Intermediate on Friday, the state regulator said. That compares with a $1.55 discount last month.
