The two combined morning sessions address the relationship between the oil and gas and steel industries which is almost as lengthy as drilling for crude in the U.S. Every phase of drilling, producing and transporting oil and gas requires a steelmakers’ products. And one of the biggest customers of steelmakers for decades, has been the burgeoning oil and gas industry.
In the afternoon you can choose to join the oil & gas specific sessions or the steel sessions. On the oil & gas side, speakers will debate the outlook for exports: Can they continue to grow? What about increasing competition on the world stage? Are there new markets U.S. hydrocarbons can tap? Will U.S. producers pull back, take a breather, or will they continue to push production as long as the drill tip stays sharp? And then we’ll round out the day discussing the industry old question: which comes first, the production or the pipeline?
